We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Other than the parades, football games, and Christmas shopping, a huge part of Thanksgiving is sharing a meal around the holiday table. At Perry Wellness Center, peers celebrated Thanksgiving a day early with meals planned and prepared by Kelly Jansen and Arthur Patillo. The two had planned the menu and serving ideas for weeks.
Kelly explained, “It is fun to cook this food. Arthur cooked the meats and we did the trimmings. It was a pretty and FULL plate of holiday food.”
Arthur added, “I hope that peers and staff enjoyed the efforts and will give thanks for all the good meals and services at Perry Wellness Center.”
Arthur’s hopes were certainly fulfilled. It was a smiling line of peers who thanked the kitchen staff as the left the dining room for their vine ride home. They left with happy stomachs – filled with turkey, turnip greens, black-eyed peas, and homemade pumpkin pie.
