It’s not too soon to start thinking about the next summer holiday coming up soon – The Fourth of July or Independence Day. What got us reminiscing about past July 4^th celebrations are the extra-large, bright green, fresh watermelons piled up at Rudy’s Happy Patch Market.

Says Perry Wellness Center’s Mulkey McMichael, “Freshly cut watermelon has been a part of my July 4^th celebration all my life.” He adds, “I think watermelon is good throughout the summer, but it seems to taste best after a July 4^th feast.”

As for Happy Patch’s own bounty, PWC founder and CEO Stuart Perry states, “These watermelons will be in our next Mobile Market in Richland on July 1. I hope people will visit our Mobile Market. It will be worth it just to see me load and unload melons!”

For now, they can also be found at their regular location on the PWC campus. The cost is $7 per melon, but that’s a reasonable price this year, especially when you figure it by the cost per ounce!
