One look at this photo, and you can tell that Dylan Kloberdanz has a job that involves a lot of paperwork. Celebrating almost a decade of work at Perry Wellness Center, Dylan finds that many hours are spent making notes on the progress of peers at the recovery center.
“We must document our times of discussion and activity planning with peers at Perry Wellness Center,” Dylan explains. “We talk one on one with members of the peer family as they make their personal goals. We want to be sure they strive to achieve these goals and improve their lives.”
While the activity of goal writing may sound boring to some, it is a vital part of the success of PWC, as Dylan understands. Putting goals down in black and white formalizes the process and reinforces to peers the important of setting and trying to achieve personal goals. He also knows that the act of communication with peers and families is equally important.
“Along with the review of personal goal planning and progress at PWC, it is good to give our peer family a chance to talk with another non-family individual,” Dylan adds. “But we are all family down here.”
