With plans underway for expansion of the Perry Wellness Center campus, fund-raising activities have begun to help underwrite construction. Most recently, the center hosted a gasoline raffle for the holidays, with 1500 tickets printed for purchase by supporters.
As Stuart Perry notes, "The support of local and out-of-town supporters was great. I am sorry that all of those who purchased tickets could not win the gas. They all DID win with the knowledge that they are now a part of our effort to expand our outreach to those with mental illness and addictive disorders."
The raffle drawing was held December 21 in the studios of local radio station WISK/WDEC. The results:
3rd place winner Don King – 50 gallons of Chevron gasoline
2nd place winner Tracy Arizmendi – 75 gallons
1st place winner Rusty Whaley and Citizen Bank of Americus -- 100 gallons
Stuart reports that future raffles are planned. "First place winners will receive even more gallons of gasoline, but we will also spread the remaining gift gallons to help other supporters of our programs."
