On a recent visit to Perry Wellness Center, two Gideons International volunteers left several copies of the Bible at several locations and with several individuals. One of the volunteers explained, “People like to receive Bibles as we walk to distribute this book throughout the world. We are now taking time to pause and discuss the Gideons and the Bible with recipients. We have a proud history of Bible presentation.”

Many individuals are familiar with the Gideon Bible from seeing one placed on a bedside table in hotel and motel rooms. Bibles have been distributed at numerous locations around the world since 1908. Today, thousands of Gideons and Auxiliary members dedicate time and money in that others can receive copies of the Bible or New Testaments. To date, more than two billion have been distributed across the world. Thanks to these volunteers who literally take steps to share with others.
