After high winds passed through Sumter County this past weekend, staff leader Steve Thompson greeted a heavy cover of leaf and flower debris on the porches of Perry Wellness Center. He immediately grabbed a garden hose and set to work.
“I try to keep the porches and high-traffic walking areas clean for everyone,” Steve explained. “We must have had high winds on Sunday. There were many leaves from our hanging baskets and other plants on the ground. I will get these areas cleaned first.”
As a manager, Steve maintains awareness of everything from maintaining an attractive campus to protecting the safety or peers, staff, and visitors – and avoiding liability.
Many local homeowners and businesses are probably taking on the same tasks today, after a somewhat rainy and blustery weekend.
