Fire AssistanceIt was a dreary Monday when the day began at Perry Wellness Center. The mood was quickly raised when peer leaders reported on the outpouring of support for a friend in downtown Americus. Their family had lost almost everything in a fire. We’ll let peer leader Sherry Robinson report on what happened next:

“When I learned of the loss from the family of one affected friend, I made contact with peers at Perry Wellness Center. In only days, we had collected products for the home, money, and a promise from Stuart Perry that we would be totally involved in the restoration of the fire-stricken family. I am sure that Perry Wellness Center can and will do more.”

In the photo above, some of the collected items are place on the front porch of the new classroom building, surrounded by a few of the involved peers. Thank you, Sherry! Thank you all for demonstrating what a community of peers can truly be.
