With the increasing reliance upon social media, it often seems difficult to ensure positive, face-to-face communication among individuals. Since the establishment of Perry Wellness Center, positive interaction between changing peer and staff populations has been an important goal of the organization
We’re happy to sese that, even as the population on campus has changed and grown, PWC continues to take mental health and substance abuse treatment to the next level. A combined focus on behavioral health, exercise, and nutrition in a social setting can restore vitality and create a better quality of life for individuals with mental illness or addictive disease. Staff at the center, most of whom have a history of mental health or substance abuse difficulties themselves, really listen to peers and take their input as the chief driver for services.
It is great to hear constructive and positive conversation throughout the campus. Pleasant words can lead to a clearer sense of mutual endeavor. After all, we’re all in this together!
