Each day at Perry Wellness Center is one of structured learning and routine activities. This includes morning groups or videos, followed by discussions. The more challenging the topic, the greater the amount of discussion.
By the time the morning activities draw to an end, both peers and staff are ready for their lunchtime meal. Individuals calmly but eagerly await the arrival of the food cart, delivering packed boxes from the administrative building next door. Discussion of morning group topics turns to discussion of the lunch menu.
Structured routines, nutritious meals -- we all benefit from these as part of our day. For individuals in recovery from mental health problems or substance abuse, they can be critical parts of each day.
