In an effort to reach out to mental health programs throughout Georgia, the state’s top mental health leaders are meeting at location around the state, sharing information and learning about local and regional programs.
Perry Wellness Center was pleased to be selected as the site for the group’s regional meeting and hosted a productive meeting last week. After food and beverages, greetings, and introductions, discussion began. Participants were encouraged to report on positive activities and news from their areas. Those in attendance were able to provide many encouraging comments about Georgia’s mental health future.
Sadly, the meeting was held as events were still unfolding from the school shooting crisis in Winder, Georgia. Georgia mental health professionals had been contacted immediately and provided assistance to students and families, while addressing prevention and early intervention efforts to reduce future incidents.
After the meeting, the delegation was invited to walk through Rudy’s Happy Patch Market to enjoy current products and a presentation on the market.
