Laurie Slaton is a Perry Wellness Center peer who is frequently cited on these pages. She has an avid interest in many things, from weaving to dancing. Laurie always puts a good deal of determination into new tasks, as her visit to the recent mental health fair at Georgia Southwestern State University demonstrated.

Laurie, pictured below, decided to tackle her first experience with the old fair game, ring toss, but this time with hula hoops. The game turned out to be more challenging than expected, but Laurie was up to the task.

“I like this ring toss with the large hoops,” Laurie said, “But I hope I will continue to like it when I leave this event.” We all know that feeling!
