Potted PoinsettiasAs we all pack up the remaining decorations from the Christmas season, we are offering our readers a couple of belated holiday tips from Perry Wellness Center.

First, check out these beautiful poinsettias that was used to brighten the entrance gate to Rudy’s Happy Patch Market. They were placed atop urns filled with evergreen boughs. Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry reminds us that maintaining poinsettia plants relies upon maintaining them at an appropriate temperature. No freezing, please, and no blasts of heat!

The next photo highlights an innovative use of old vehicle tires to create a colorful Christmas tree. Brightly colored spray paint and a few stacked tires in graduated sizes make the perfect outdoor Christmas tree for porch or garden. Or go rustic and set an arrangement near the hearth (but not too near).

Tire TreeStuart Perry, whose uncles operate Perry Brothers Oil Co. notes that the company has wanted to develop other uses for worn-out tires: “We plan to team with Perry Brothers for creating additional and year-round uses for these older, worn tires.”

It may not be retreading, but it sure sounds like a wonderful way to recycle!
