Perry Wellness Center is known for its vibrant campus, including its peer-focused activities and learning experiences for individuals with mental health or addictive disease problems. Many other visitors to the campus are captivated by the physical surroundings, ranging from vintage and unique artifacts; e.g., claw-foot tubs, a family gas station sign, a hand-built fountain, and a cement statue of the late mental health advocate Rudy Hayes, for whom Rudy’s Happy Patch Market was named.
During the hot summer months, many visitors particularly appreciate the mature vine walkway designed by artist Jeff Williams. Its cool factor extends from its attractive and unusual design to its shady bower that shields walkers from the bright sunlight for a moment. The walkway looks like it has stepped out of a fairy tale. Visitors can ask for a tour of the campus and stop there to sip a cold soft drink and review their market purchase lists.
