At Perry Wellness Center, peer Susan Hull is known for her interest and talent in arts and crafts. For some time, she has drawn, painted, and created crafts as part of her mental health recovery program. She enjoys using different media to create a variety of creative expressions.
Now, Susan’s recovery program also focuses on physical recovery. After being away from PWC for a while due to recent illness, the dedicated peer is learning to modify her projects and build strength.
“I am lucky and happy that I can still produce designs,” Susan notes, showing a productive attitude toward something that can also be difficult. “I feel good now and want to continue my work.”
Pointing to material on the crafts table, she adds, “This is a new creation with my pens. It is not titled, but it allows me to use my hands and brain.”
Susan concludes, “I am happy to be back and to have a smile!” The smile is always the best part of any chat with this outgoing lady.
