MLK Day art projectAs art classes continue to expand at Perry Wellness Center, additional one-on-one attention is also provided to peers in the art classroom. Phyllis Smith, CPS and PWC staff member, takes care to monitor student progress.

Most recently, several peers worked on projects for Martin Luther King Day, in honor of the late civil rights leader. Peer Sean Eidell, pictured here with Miss Phyllis, sought out design advice.

“I guess my ideas of design and project completion are more important than I realized,” the dedicated instructor notes. “I am learning that my peer class listens more closely to my art assignments. I like to help one-on-one with questions.”

Such interactions demonstrate that the creative process is best as a collaborative one.
