Garden Decoration
Perry Wellness Center art instructor Phyllis Smith is fond of using “found objects” in art work, when a common, “throw-away” item is repurposed in an unexpected way. Examples abound on the campus, such as old tubs and farm troughs used as flower beds.

As the revitalization of the campus walking trail continues, PWC founder and CEO Stuart Peerry enjoys its progress. On a recent early morning walk, he increased his own education in the reuse of garden elements along the trail. Older objects highlighting a newly designed garden. They included wooden and clay pieces, painted and reconfigured into rural art, such as the half-buried, brightly colored tire pictured here.

Miss Phyllis plans to continues this creative work with interested peers. Stuart has high hopes, saying, “I expect this walkway to be renewed into something as bright and colorful as it once was.” That seems to be a safe bet!
