Did you know that one million individuals attempt to take their lives in the U.S. each year? The Suicide Prevention Resource Center wants to help reduce that number.
This week is National Suicide Prevention Week. At Perry Wellness Center, we join with advocates and professionals around the country to ask people to become more aware of the warning signs of suicide and how they can make a difference in the lives of people at risk. Go to the SPRC basic information page and learn more about suicide prevention.
At least 10% of people seeking emergency care have thoughts of suicide. We encourage emergency rooms, mental health offices, and other providers to download a copy of the center’s suicide risk poster. It provides helpful information on assessing suicidal risk.
With your help, we can reduce the one million suicide attempts each year.
