Spring is the one of our busiest times, particularly when it comes to the care and feeding of our plants! With warmer temperatures here, fertilization of all greenhouse plants is underway, and peers follow an outlined routine of daily watering. Some plant varieties require more growing space and are being transferred to clay pots.
And with the completion of the new greenhouse on our campus, we’re getting ready to transfer some of our ever-expanding stock of hanging baskets. The baskets are currently displayed in the arbor adjacent to the greenhouse. The market area is filled with the colors of petunias, geraniums, and Gerbera daisies, among other brightly hued flowering plants.
Market team member Phyllis Smith reports, “During April, we still will offer all hanging baskets at $1 off the tagged price. Wednesday is Tomato Day, so come and enjoy 5 fresh tomatoes for $3!”
