Bill Perry a Loyal Customer at Market
Since 1957, Perry Brothers Oil Company has been a local landmark, providing everything from commercial fleet fuels to consumer tires. The East Furlow Street corner on which Perry Wellness Center stands was the main site of the booming company for decades. When the decision was made to build a larger, modern site on Highway 280, the company worked with Stuart Perry, nephew of the founding brothers, to allow Perry Wellness Center to renovate buildings and the grounds, turning it into the large, colorful campus it enjoys today.
At least monthly, Bill Perry, the remaining brother of Perry Brothers, visits Perry Wellness Center and the market. “Uncle” Bill, as he is known by peers, staff, and family members at the center, always has a smile as he surveys this transformed property where he did business for so many years.
“Each time I come here, I could share hours of memories about the early days of our company,” the popular businessman reflected. “Now I can come and enjoy the beauty of the place – and fill the order of my wife for great produce!” After a stroll through the campus and purchases at the market, he is ready to head back to his new headquarters or do an onsite review of one of his many outlet stores throughout Southwest Georgia. But the Furlow Street location still holds a special place in his heart.
“I am proud of what my nephew, Stuart, has done to this corner. It is a bright spot in this area of Americus,” he explained.

Thanks for all your support and patronage, Uncle Bill!
