Spider plantsFor several years now, horticulturist and garden designer Manson Markette has lent a helping hand (and green thumb!) to Perry Wellness Center. During visits to Rudy’s Happy Patch Market, Mr. Markette has trained a group of peers in the art of plant propagation and repotting.

His influence can be seen throughout the campus, from design choices to flourishing plants. In the photo above, Connie Rutherford displays some of the popular spider plants that Mr. Markette cultured in one of his many classes. The talented peer is the class leader, in charge of ongoing propagation. In the extensive greenhouse spaces at Perry Wellness Center, other varieties of hanging baskets and other plants attest to the legacy of Manson Markette.

Thanks, Mr. Markette, for all you do!
