Preparations Underway for "Cheer Up the Blues"
“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…” We know that lots of folks enjoy a White Christmas, but our peers are excited that the forecast for this week is warmer temperatures. Warmer sunlight brings with it a greater interest in being outside and an increased productivity, whether in work tasks or exercise.
Notes staff member Mulkey McMichael, “Somehow, sunlight excites all of our staff and peers at Perry Wellness Center.”
Along with other staff and peers, Mulkey is busy with preparations for the annual “Cheer Up the Blues” open house at the market and Perry Wellness Center campus. The event is scheduled for Thursday, December 17 from 5 – 7 p.m. The annual celebration will feature singing and other music, refreshments, and other activities. The market will also be open, with seasonal items on display.
“I invite readers and supporters to join us for the celebration,” says Phyllis Smith, our market manager. Knowing that bright color creates a sense of excitement, she has been stocking the market area with fresh, red poinsettia plants. Stop by the open house next week and pick up a seasonal plant, as well as a jar of our famous okra pickles!
